Overview of Activities:
Transferable Skills Training
We had a course on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) that covered patent protection, software and licensing and a course on Innovation Management with focus on business value assessment and IPR. The courses were guided by Jørgen Kejlberg and Michael Stuer Lauridsen, Innovation experts at DTU.
Other topics covered during the courses were an introduction to IEC standards, entrepreneurship, spin-off creation and project management.
General Assembly
We reviewed and tracked the activities of our doctoral network and planned future events.
Carrots for commercialisation - Industry Workshop
Presentations by Andrew Black (Vaisala), Rozen Wagner (Natural Power), Julia Gottschall (Fraunhofer IWES), Mikael Sjöholm (DTU), Alexander Radi (Enercon) and Lasse Svenningsen (EMD International) about the journey from academic research towards industry application, successful cases and best practices.
Presentations from Doctoral Candidates
Our doctoral candidates made individual presentations about their work-in-progress focused on innovation and commercialisation, and received feedback from the supervisors.
Scientific Writing Course
The course was led by Ebba Dellwik, Senior Researcher at DTU Wind and Energy Systems and it covered European ethical guidelines for research integrity and discussions about good titles for publications.
Industrial Visit
We visited the facilities of Lumibird, including Keopsys, where they shared the manufacturing process of optical fibres and the assembling and testing of lidars and other instruments.
Lumibird is one of the world's leading laser specialists, and it is part of our consortium.
