From September 6 to 11, Keeta Chapman and Maksims Pogumirskis attended the European Meteorological Society (EMS) Annual Meeting in Utrecht, the Netherlands.

The conference brings together researchers from across meteorology, climatology and related fields, covering a broader range of topics than the more specialised wind energy conferences.

Keeta presented her work on “Typhoon Haikui Capture through Dual-Doppler Radar Measurements”, focusing on the use of Dual-Doppler radar measurements to study Typhoon Haikui. The work presented at the conference is expected to be submitted as a paper soon.

Maksims also presented his research, “Investigating the Optimal WRF Setup for Modelling Diurnal Cycles of Wind Speed at Turbine Heights in Sweden.”

It was a valuable opportunity for both to share their work, meet researchers from different areas of meteorology and bring new perspectives back to their ongoing research.
